Greetings,

Re: MPI inspection failure treatment for infested or dirty vehicles ex Japan

Pre Export inspection and cleaning service providers have reported receiving some vehicles that require additional treatments and cleaning to ensure they meet the MPI standards for NZ Biosecurity upon arrival in NZ.

Despite the “BMSB season” finishing at the end of April, it is easier, quicker and cheaper to address the problem at the time of processing in Japan, rather than dealing with this upon arrival in NZ which can hold up vessel discharge.

Subsequently, we advise customers in advance that, depending on the state in which we receive your vehicles, you may incur further charges for additional cleaning or heat treatment if deemed necessary.

Autohub will do its best to advise you in advance should any vehicles “fail” their Japanese biosecurity inspection and require additional treatment, however given the time differences, processes conducted at different ports in Japan, this may not always be possible.

We will also endeavour to obtain any failure reports to show the nature of the bio hazard of concern.

Should you wish to discuss this further, please contact us via customerservices@autohub.co.nz or call 094117425.

Kind regards,

Team Autohub
